At America’s Car-Mart, 2023 was a year of remarkable progress and outstanding accomplishments. We continued to make impressive strides towards our mission of earning the repeat business of our customers by providing quality vehicles, affordable payment terms, and excellent service.
Indeed, it’s motivating to reflect on our company’s journey. Every day at Car-Mart, our incredible associates work hard to deliver exceptional service, uplift our communities, and achieve excellence in everything we do. Here are some noteworthy achievements and milestone moments of America’s Car-Mart in 2023.
We’re honored by some great recognition.
We were named to Newsweek 2023 lists for Greatest Workplace, Greatest Workplace for Diversity, and Most Trustworthy.
We made the AR 500 list for the third consecutive year, listing the most influential companies in the used car industry. For the fourth consecutive year, we made the Special Finance 175 by SubPrime Auto Finance News.
America’s Car-Mart also made Automotive News’ debut list of retailers by used-vehicle-only sales. We achieved the highest single-vehicle sales day, quarter, and fiscal year in our company’s history.
Our Learning & Development Team was named one of the top 50 Learning and Development Teams of 2023 by the OnCon Icon Awards. The OnCon Icon Awards recognize the top professionals and teams in the entire world.
These awards are a testament to our 2,500+ hard-working associates who help and serve our customers.
We strengthened our team.
A strong team is vital to our success. We named seasoned experts to key leadership roles to bolster our standing in the used car marketplace and advance our company’s growth and evolution. Doug Campbell assumed the role of CEO and President. We also welcomed Ben Fernando as Vice President of Corporate Finance; and Mike Robortaccio as Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions.
Moreover, we work with amazing people such as Jules Gianneschi, Senior Vice President of People, who was named 2023 Women in Business Honoree by NWA Arkansas Business Journal. Kristi Carpenter, Chief Compliance Officer, was named 2023 Women in Retail Honoree by Auto Remarketing.
We enhanced the car-buying process for our customers.
We launched a new digital tool to streamline the sales process and enhance customer service. Customers can now determine their pre-qualification status before arriving at Car-Mart. That’s good news for customers.
We’re growing and evolving.
We attained a notable milestone by reaching over 100,000 customers! We believe it’s our obligation to serve more customers, and we’re thrilled that more customers are enjoying vehicle ownership with the help of Car-Mart.
We’re also excited to add more dealerships to the Car-Mart family. In December, we welcomed Central Auto Sales, Hot Springs, Ark., to our Car-Mart family. Last year, Taylor Auto Credit, Taylor, Texas, became America’s Car-Mart. And we opened one of several new facilities in Evansville, Ind., which sports our modernized look and feel.
We have the best customers.
We are fortunate to have thousands of loyal customers who have trusted us for their transportation needs. It’s our privilege to serve and provide them with peace of mind with their vehicle ownership.
Several longtime customers shared their inspiring Car-Mart stories with us, and we’re honored to share them again. Doug Childress, Springfield North, Mo., has purchased over 20 cars from Car-Mart because he ‘likes Car-Mart.’
A customer since 1992, James Holland, Rogers, Ark., has purchased 22 vehicles from Car-Mart, and he says he’s not stopping any time soon. For Rebecca Kurtz, Henderson, Ky., ‘Car-Mart is the place to go.’ She’s purchased 14 vehicles from Car-Mart.
We serve an incredible community.
Giving back – it’s in our company’s vision to improve the communities we serve. We want our communities to be better places to live and work.
That’s why, we were proud to support both the Junior Achievement of Arkansas and the Junior Achievement of Oklahoma. It’s important to help our leaders of tomorrow better understand finances.
We also supported veterans, as well as the fight against cancer. For the fourth year, we contributed $10,000 to Hope for Heroes, an organization focused on helping veterans and first responders heal their emotional and physical wounds through camouflage therapy. In October, we conducted our Drive Away Cancer campaign for the seventh consecutive year with a $10,000 donation to the American Cancer Society.
Every November, we conduct our Holiday Toy Drive. Last year, we celebrated our 15th annual Toy Drive by collecting 31,016 toys and delivering them to 31 area children’s hospitals. During the holiday season, we were honored to bring moments of happiness to hospitalized children.
We have great associates.
Every day, our associates work to make a difference for our customers. A big thank you to them for their outstanding contributions in 2023. We appreciate their unwavering commitment to their teammates, customers, communities, and America’s Car-Mart.
It’s with associates like Brian McFarland, celebrating 30 years; Josue Saucedo, who found his purpose at Car-Mart; and Larry Stubblefield, who enjoys serving his community.
Sadly, Hank Henderson passed away in October. Hank served as our Chief Executive Officer from October 2007 to December 2017. He was a highly respected and beloved member of our company, leaving a lasting legacy of commitment to our associates, customers, and culture.
